Hotel Maritime has a rich history that takes us back to Copenhagen's bustling waterfront days. Located near Nyhavn, our building once served as a haven for sailors returning from the sea.
After long months away, sailors would come here to rest, reconnect, and enjoy the comforts of land life, making this building a lively and essential part of Copenhagen’s maritime community.
Originally built in the mid-20th century, the structure was closely tied to Copenhagen’s port, offering a place for sailors to stay between voyages. When the city’s waterfront transformed and Nyhavn became a vibrant, modern neighborhood, the building evolved as well.
It was reborn as Hotel Maritime, keeping its ties to the seafaring past.Today, the hotel reflects its heritage with Scandinavian minimalism and subtle nautical touches, a nod to the sailors who once called it home. Hotel Maritime combines comfort with a sense of history, inviting guests to experience a piece of Copenhagen’s maritime story.
We offer simple, comfortable accommodations with a cozy, classic décor. The hotel is situated just a few minutes’ walk from Nyhavn, the Royal Danish Theater, and other major attractions like Amalienborg Palace, the home for our King and Queen and Strøget our shopping street.
The round tower, one of Europe’s oldest functioning observatories, and the Kings Garden, Denmark’s oldest royal garden, today a public park for historic sculptures and Rosenborg Castle views.
This central location makes it convenient for sightseeing on foot.We try to offer the best service possible with our friendly and attentive staff, who are often praised by our guests for being welcoming and helpful.
